Im Rahmen der Unterrichtsreihe „Multicultural Britain“ bei Frau Ast ist das folgende Gedicht entstanden, das anschaulich zeigt, wie facettenreich Englisch abseits des Lehrbuchs sein kann.

Diff´rent

Tu be accepted in society

yu hav tou be identical

tu ev´rybody else. Most likely

just like dem, it typical.

Normal an typical is tu be

unseen in society.

Try tu be diff´rent yu´ll see

ev´ryone will disagree.

Yu wanna be like one anodder

no needin´ separate identity.

Just keepin´ it, yu´r undercover

dere can´t be any jealousy.

But I´m diff´rent from de odders:

I´v got hundreds more of colours.

An I´m weird aswell I admit it.

Can´t order me, can´t put me ina grid

I´v tried tu be diff´rent yu saw

dere wasn´t any law

an got tru it, still am rated.

Yu see me here, no time I´v wasted.

I´m diff´rent now

is yu tu?

Yu could learn how.

But dere isn´t any clu.
